Help Me Take Value My Land Rover to the Next Level...

I need your help!
I’m Dryden. I've loved Landys since I was a boy—my sheep farmer uncle had a beautiful 90 pickup that I thought was the coolest thing on four wheels. Now, I'm lucky enough to have one of my own: a 1991 Defender 90 named Charlie. Since getting Charlie, my love for Land Rovers has only grown.

But as I drove around Devon, I started to notice something that made me a bit sad—so many old Landys sitting unloved in fields and driveways, quietly fading away. That’s what inspired me to create Value My Land Rover — a tool to help figure out what these vehicles are worth in their current condition, with the hope of connecting forgotten Landys with the passionate people who want to restore and revive them.

That's the dream—but I need a bit of help getting Value My Land Rover to where it needs to be. There’s so much potential here, and with a little support, we can take it to the next level. 👀👇

What's the problem?

Right now, I base the valuations on previously sold Land Rovers from sites like Auto Trader, averaging the prices across different models. It’s a decent starting point—but to do this properly, I need to build a regression model that predicts prices based on key factors like age, mileage, model, colour, and more. That means introducing some machine learning magic into the mix. It's a better than doing it based off averages, giving a more accurate valuation.

What's the solution?

The exciting part? We've recently seen a wave of people signing up—totally organically—which is amazing. There’s clearly demand for this, and I want to make sure the predictions are as accurate and useful as possible. To do that, I’m looking for a data wiz who enjoys working with XGBoost or similar algorithms, and someone who’s happy to tinker and refine things over time.

What do you need?

Once this piece is in place, I’ll feel confident pushing the project further on social media and continuing to refine the predictions—ultimately aiming to offer the most useful and trustworthy Land Rover valuation tool out there.
